The Club

Poppy Estate Senior Men's Golf Club is open to everyone over the age of 55. Members play on Wednesday mornings, starting around the first of April until the end of September, at the Poppy Estate Golf Course located on 248th street, just off the Fraser Highway in Aldergrove. The course is an executive-length par 63 golf course.

The aim of the club is to provide friendly competition and a chance to meet other seniors who enjoy golf. Our membership fluctuates between 100 and 150 members each year and the club accepts all handicaps (ability levels) but asks that all members be familiar with general golf course etiquette including maintaining a reasonable speed of play (members should be able to complete an 18-hole round in about 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

Cost of membership is $100 per year and includes:

Preferred tee times on Wednesday mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.;
Fall luncheon and prizes for holes-in-one;
Prizes for the weekly competitions;
Maintenance of your handicap on the club computer.

The Club uses handicapping software which emulates Golf Canada handicapping rules. This factor/handicap is for recreational purposes and is not Golf Canada certified. The most recent members' local handicaps and the allocation to flights for weekly competitions are attached. The maximum handicap at the Poppy Estate course is 32. A list of the winners of the various competitions for the 2011 season is also attached.
